Protea stems originate from South Africa. They are also called Nodding Sugarbush or Arid Sugarbush. The Protea flower is named after Proteus, the son of the Greek God Poseidon. In Greek mythology, Proteus could assume any shape and this is why the Protea was named after him due to the many shapes and colours of the flowers within the species.
Each stem is on average 50 cm.
