A lovely example of mid century West German Pottery, this jug was produced by Jasba Keramik located near Koblenz. The main exterior glaze is matt black, with a thick layer of white contoured glaze having been applied around the middle to create a pattern. As a gorgeous contrast to the monochrome exterior, the interior is fully glazed in shiny ochre.
Production of vases ceased at Jasba in 1971 but the company still exists, producing industrial items and tiles.
