Handmade in Tamegroute, the bowl is first half-dipped in the traditional Tamegroute glaze before being fired in the earth oven. The colour and tones are due to the baking process and each piece has its own marks and characteristics.  A groove at the base of the bowl by the foot ring enables a string to be safely attached so the bowl can be hung on the wall.

Just on the cusp of the Sahara Desert in Southern Morocco lies Tamegroute, a small village with a rich and vibrant history, famous for its unique pottery. Tamegroute is the home to seven Atelier families who each own one oven and their own atelier for making and selling their goods.
With a unique crafting process that has been passed down from generation to generation, the process begins at the River Draa where potters dig up the clay which is then spun and shaped.  The pieces are then hand dipped into the special glazing mixture before firing, giving Tamegroute pottery its distinctive green and ochre hues.
