This charming jug was produced in the late 1960s at Holkham Pottery of Norfolk. It was made by Cyril Ruffles who learned his craft during his time as a German prisoner of war. This jug bears his initials inscribed on the base along with the Holkham stamp.
The jug is glazed inside and out in mustard yellow with a decoration of a chocolate brown band at the neck and hand painted flowers and leaves. It would make a lovely vase for an arrangement of fresh garden flowers.
It is in excellent condition having neither chips nor cracks.
