Brand Photography & Styling Workshop, Tuesday, 14/07 at 11:00-2.30pm
You've made something beautiful. Now you need people to stop scrolling.
This workshop is for makers, small businesses and market traders who want to photograph and style their own work — without a big budget or a professional photographer.
For a period of 3.5 hours, with a maximum of five attendees, you'll have exclusive use of the shop, the workshop room and all my props and products to practise with. It's hands-on from the start.
We cover everything from phone photography and flat lays to market stall styling and press-ready images — and by the end of the day you'll have a clear, repeatable approach that works whether you're shooting at home or setting up at a market.
What we cover:
Product Styling & Visual Storytelling — understanding your brand's aesthetic, the different styling approaches (flat lays, lifestyle, white background, creative compositions), and how to use colour, texture, light and props to set the right mood.
Composition & Design — the practical rules that make images feel intentional: rule of thirds, focal points, negative space, balance, and how to create consistency across your feed.
Styling for markets — how the same principles translate directly to creating a stall that stops people in their tracks.
Using AI to go further — how to use AI tools to write captions and product descriptions from your images, generate styling references and mood boards, and brief Claude or similar tools to extend your content once you have great photography.
Maximum 5 attendees. Whole shop to yourselves. Bring your phone or camera — both work perfectly.
Styling to tell a story, reflect the brand aesthetics and encouraging more customer engagement is essential when marketing your wares. This workshop is intended for makers who are required to promote their product for selling online or alternatively for presenting at markets. Our focus will be on how to style your work to create beautiful imagery(with a phone or camera) and how the same learnings can be transferred easily to creating a beautiful and impactful market stall at events. By following a few simple guidelines you can style like a professional to create compelling images for pitching to the press, sharing on social and your website.
