Studio Pottery Jug

A little jug with a full, rounded belly that narrows to a small foot, so it sits with a bit of a wobble in its posture. The body is washed in brown glaze with darker circles and strokes brushed loosely over the top. Some areas have fired glossy and some have stayed matt, and you can see the maker's fingermarks in the clay underneath.

The spout is pinched by hand rather than cut, and the handle loops up to a small tab at the rim where your thumb rests naturally. Inside, the glaze turns pale and slightly green.

It's the right size for milk at breakfast, or for a few stems from the garden: a sprig of rosemary, some late cosmos, or whatever is still going in the hedgerow. It also works well on its own on a windowsill.

Hand wash only. Irregularities in shape and glaze are part of how it was made.
