A vintage studio pottery coffee set. Jug and six espresso-size cups. 

This lidded ceramic coffee jug was made in Devon in the early 1970s at Wellhouse Pottery, which at that time was based in the seaside town of Paignton. Designed by the gifted potter Toni Raymond, who went on to open their own studio in nearby Torquay, this set is in warm Earth tones of grey and brown in a finely bubbled "lava" glaze with a geometric lattice picked out in brown lines.

The piece was hand thrown in the terracotta characteristic of vintage South Devon wares.

It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks, the glaze is clear and uncrazed.  Please see the images for an accurate depiction of its condition.
